Is it a decorating faus pas to mix metal colors in the kitchen?
I’m redecorating and need advise. I’ve got stainless steel cabinet knobs and appliances. I want to put on a copper backsplash. Do you think that would be a nice contrast or a bad one? My walls are painted tan with one red accent wall. I’d appreciate your opinions.

My cabinets are oak stained. I do have several copper pieces that I will be incorporating in my design.
You can mix the two. I would suggest you purchase a piece of copper and stand it on your counter top to live with it before making your final decision. I wouldn’t worry about the paint as it can be changed. One point about copper is that it will patina. If you want to keep the glow you will need to polish regularly. Here is a photo of two combined, although it is not stainless.

Copper is more traditional or period as opposed to stainless being more contemporary.
