Cabinet Latch Earthquake Questions

seismology paragraphs help? Earthquakes ?

i have this information about nonstructural and structural work ( for during earthquakes ) for homeowners but how can i put it all into 2 separate paragraph?

Nonstructural work
strapping down the hot water heater and other large appliances
secure pictures,bookcases,bulletin boards
latch cabinet drawers
saftey film on windows

Structural work
Bolt the house to founation
add plywood to brace the cripple walls and roof
replace brickand stone foundations or put a sister foundation on the inside of the original foundation.

You have the outline in your question. By the look of your first list these are the tasks done BEFORE an earthquake (or as soon as the warnings are issued) every time there is an incident.

The alterations to the house are more permanent and larger projects that involve changing the structure of the house in some significant ways.

I would suggest that you switch your “plan” around and tackle the more permanent (structural) list first. THIS IS PARAGRAPH ONE,
in acceptable paragraph, sentence form.

Then with a transition sentence introduce in acceptable paragraph and sentence form the items in the list from the (nonstructural) list pointing out that the items on this list MUST BE DONE each time there is an earthquake in the area. There you have it. THIS IS PARAGRAPH TWO.

One for structural work; one for non-structural work. Meets the instructor’s instructions as you have listed (2 separate paragraphs)
Now go ahead and construct your own paragraphs for this assignment. You will learn more by doing this yourself. It’s good practise for when you will have to create a short story length assignment or a research paper in college.

Prepare Your Home for Natural Disaster

We do not want to face natural disasters. Unfortunately, it can happen when we least expect it. Even if we have been warned, we will not be aware of the damage it can do unless it happens to us. In order to prevent regrets, we have to make the necessary preparations while we still can. Preparation can do so much for our property as well as for our lives.

People can encounter various types of disasters. Each disaster needs a different type of preparation. You should know the different types of disasters that your town can encounter so that you can make the appropriate preparations. If you have just transferred to that area, ask which areas are normally flooded when there is a strong rain. You may also ask about earthquake and hurricane incidences there. However, this does not mean that you will neglect other forms of natural disasters.

One of the most common types of natural disasters is the earthquake. The intensity of the earthquake affects the damage it can do to the people in the area. It can be harmless. However, it can also be catastrophic. In order to prepare for it, you should manage your things carefully. Pay attention to your breakable home accessories such as figurines, vases and lamps. You can prevent them from falling by fastening them on the shelves. If they fall off, they can injure you or anyone in the house. It is also important to secure the cabinets. You can secure them by bolting them on the floor. You can also add heavier materials below them. In addition, make sure that you have a sturdy lock or latches on the cabinets. They should have quality doors as well. This is to ensure that your things in the cabinet will stay there.

Aside from the earthquake, you should be ready for the extreme weather conditions as well. Extreme heat or cold can be very dangerous. You can experience a lot of troubles. Your property will not only wear and tear easily. Your family can get sick too. To deal with these conditions, see to it that you insulate your home properly. Make sure that your heater or AC is in proper working condition. Additionally, check your property, check your windows and doors. The heat and the cold can enter through damaged windows and doors if not taken cared of right away.

You should also be ready for strong rains, winds, hurricanes and storm. These seldom happen, but once it does, they can be devastating. You can make preparations by using weather stripping. This can help you prevent the water from getting inside. You may take advantage of the storm shutters and the storm doors. On the other hand, you can strengthen your garage doors in preparation of a hurricane. You can use the hurricane-rated garage doors if you want. If your area is prone to flooding, add a waterproof compound. This will prevent the cracks on your wall from seeping the water.

You might also deal with problems on mudflows or landslides. This can easily take away life and properties, which is why you have to be careful. Deflecting walls are good idea. However, it is still best if you consult the experts first.
