Question for a kitchen cabinet maker or installer?
Have SELF CLOSING hinges on my new kitchen cabinets and drawers with no way of opening them. I don’t want pulls or catches – want the contemporary look with no hardware showing. I need some really long magnetic springs that when I push them in they will pop out enough for me to get my fingers behind the face of the cabinets. Is there something out there? (I don’t want to use a router and Restoration Hardware doesn’t have them.)
I still need to be able to close the drawers so that the faces are flush with the cabinets or drawers. Bumper s will keep them permanenently open. Thanks.
The magnetic springs you are talking about will not work on as the doors/drawers can’t be pushed in any to release the catch. You are looking for something that is not going to work.
If you are dead against hardware I suggest you make a small finger rout in the appropriate position on your doors and drawers, probably won’t see this at all, touch up with matching stain,glaze. Think about where you will do this on each door on base and wall cabinets.
